Dear Vox,

[this is good]
The performance of the Vox system has been asstastic lately, hasn't it?
And I thought it was user error...what great news to know it wasn't me. Yay!
I thought it was just me! Thanks, cranky, for letting me know I am not alone in this grumble-grumble-grouch-grouch problem with posting on Vox. I thought it was a "Let's mess with Morgat" day or something.

I haven't had problems till today, (I mean recently) but what usually would have taken me maaaaaaaybe a half hour (more like 15 minutes, but one issue COULD have been on my end) has taken me over an hour.

I understand if they don't do their releases or maintenance on a regular schedule, but how about posting something somewhere or sending out an email a few hours in advance about how they will be messing with things and we may have difficulty uploading things etc., and we're SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

Then they put out a new release all proudly and we are supposed to be so happy about it. I'll be happy about it when I feel like attempting to post anything again, maybe.

It's like if in the middle of the night your parents rearranged your bedroom, and you have to get up to pee and you stumble over everything and piss your pants and sprain your ankle and then in the morning they're like LOOK! We bought you Lucky Charms!

We're not doing anything today. What's happening when you're trying to post?

Usually, we do releases without announcing in advance because we can roll them without any disruption. We did one yesterday, however, that caused high database load, so we rolled it back. We still didn't announce anything then, because the goal was to get it out of there as quickly as possible. After it was off, everything should have been normal again.
Did that Lucky Charms scenario actually happen? Seems like an ugly memory...

And hey Pants Party, at least for me the issue is when I hit post the site kinda sits for a while and does nothing. But I can't hit it again because I don't want to double post. So I copy, compose again, paste, etc.

Also the "add to neighborhood" has been really sketchy since last night... some strange error message keeps popping up. I haven't tried it today but that was probably due to that release you're talking about. Not to whine too much but the site has seemed markedly slower in the past two weeks, at least for me.

I was thinking the same think as my computer was booting:

"Have they fixed the moblogging problem yet? Have they fixed the vid/pic posting problem yet? They were down for a bit yesterday, clearly they did another update. Did our account settings all go back to defaults? If so, did they restore them yet or do we need to do it? And... WHERE'S THE TEAM VOX POST SAYING 'WE KNOW IT'S F-ED UP, HERE'S WHAT'S GOING ON'??

I started having problems Fri afternoon/evening. Just sent in feedback. Moblogging is not posting: pics go into my Photos section but the text is lost and no post is created. Also, trying to add vid or photos during compose wasn't working - they'd be added to those Organize sections and I'd have to go back and add them into the post, from the Organize section, a 2nd time. Also got a lot of "not JPON format" (or something close to that) which would pop up at random, even while I was only reading something; and had a lot of trouble saving comments, kept getting "sorry, can't do that" messages.
Oh man... we did start doing a release Friday afternoon, so that would explain why it started for you then. I'll look in to the rest of this.
Cranky et all: Thanks so much for helping us track this stuff down. We identified and fixed the problem, which it turns out was unrelated to the push we did yesterday. If you guys continue to have problems like the ones reported here, please flush your browser cache and reload. If it continues, and if you have a few seconds to do so, please contact me directly so we can dig deeper.

Thanks again everyone!
Thanks to you for, as always, looking into and fixing things (well, I haven't tried anything so I'm assuming it's fixed) immediately!!

lol -- I thought I was losing my mind for a while, there. Good to know it wasn.t just moi!
The craptasticness that is Vox has forced my current hiatus. I spent over 2 hours working on a post that vox just couldn't seem to save because it had text AND... wait for it.... OMGFG, pictures too. WTFF!? I kept getting some BS message that a script on this page is causing some something to run slowly, do I want to abort the script. I would say yes, but it still would not save my post(s). [multiple expletives deleted] Grumble, grumble, grumble...
were you copying and pasting stuff, maybe from word, or from someone who might have used Word? I have had that SAME annoying problem if I try to copy the weekly mp3eme topic from Dave or soemthing like that. Vox doesn't like it. I wish they would address the sketchy formatting issues in the compose box. My cursor jumps around when I go to add audio or video and wouldn't you think they would size stuff so that you could post 2 large things next to each other instead of having it be juuuuuuust slightly off? I get really irritated at that. I would spend half the day sending in suggestions but I don't actually get paid to Vox, so I suppose I should quit complaining.

a BIG FAT NOPE.

I was typing directly onto a compose page and adding pics ALREADY in my library.

Also when I tried to link links, the links were on the wrong items, even though that wasn't what I linked them to. It was like Vox just decided to put the link on whatever it felt like.

OH that happened to me! It may have been around the same time, although I think it was before you left. I posted the "getting to know you" thing Val requested, posting links to some of my more noteworthy crap, and one of them jumped up to another link, it was irritating, so then I had to check the rest of them.
