Paperless ticketing for concerts?!

Comments

i have "tickets" to see Def Leppard next week. i bought the "tickets" online at a reputable legal box office and all they sent me was a confirmation #. no actual tickets. no stubs, nothing. it's weird. it's confusing. part of the whole deal is having tickets! i have never had that happen before and i see a lot of shows.

it's like when you get a ticket online at fandango to see a movie and you have to print out your confirmation #, that's what i got for Def Leppard.
i called to make sure this wasn't all bogus, but apparently it isn't? guess i'll find out when i try to see the show and they laugh at me. for not having a ticket.
hell if i know.

this whole credit card swiping idea sounds disastrous to me. i'd be afraid my cc# would be stolen somehow. or charged twice.
and for a show like Miley, you're right, unless all of these kids have parents that will hand over their credit card (yeah right) or all the parents are coming too (yeah right), i don't know how this is going to work.

Oh my gosh.
You summed it up with ShitOuttaLuck.

What a fiasco!

Even if the parent hands over the credit card, it's their credit card and they have to be there at least to walk the concertgoer to the door, even if they, the CC holder are not going in.

As far as that confirmation number thing goes...that's kind of strange. Usually I have the option to print the tickets out on my computer (and they charge a convenience fee even though you are saving them money on a ticket and postage...) or have them mail me tickets. I can't remember if I've ever had just a confirmation number. Maybe at a smaller venue, but still I think I usually just print them out on the computer and it has a bar code they scan.

I agree that this seems like a pretty BAD idea. I get it with the scalping thing but....??? God can you imagine how much longer it will take to get into shows with this? It works for Theater but....Theater doesn't cater to THOUSANDS of people at a time. Blech.
What a pain in the ass!!! Who was the genius behind that idea? They should have to work the lines letting all those obnoxious tweens in the door
I did this once at a show in Vegas (my friends told me if I died before the show, they would totally Weekend At Bernie's me) but that was a small theater and they did it only for audience members who didn't get their tix more than a week in advance. This is going to be a clusterfuck -- the traffic alone will be hideous.

BTW, love the chickie banner!

clusterfuck i think will sum it up nicely!

I never thought I'd say this but I will look up her concert dates and try to remember to keep track of it & look for blog posts and news articles, if they aren't blaring at me without haveing to seek them out.

What do you put in your scrapbook? Of course I don't want a Miley stub in my scrapbook. It smacks of nasty pedophile, lol.
Yeah, its stoopid, but then I think the whole Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray dumb shit stuff is stoopid...what the frack ever happened to having to have real talent to get somewhere...freaking wingnuts anyway
haha...yeah, so do i but I'm concerned others will think this is a good idea and follow suit. I can't imagine anyone else being so stupid though.
